The Fayette County Clerk & Recorder's Office is responsible for issuing marriage licenses, maintaining birth, death and marriage records, military discharges, assumed names, campaign disclosure statements, statements of economic interests, certificates of taxes paid, and budgets and tax levees from local entities.

The office also administers voter registration and all election proceedings, preparing official proceedings and retaining of the minutes for the County Board, the commissioning of notary publics and maintains land records including deeds, mortgages, liens, assignments, releases and documents pertaining to corporations.
For those interested in genealogy, our records for birth and deaths begin at 1877, and our marriages begin at 1821.
